Rodrigo Vizarretea is the new Pastry Chef of Sharq Village and Spa, announces Hossein Vetry, general manager of the 174 room luxury beach front resort managed by The Ritz-Carlton, Hotel Company B.V.. The Mexican born chef will oversee all pastry and bakery operations and menus for the food and beverage outlets of the resort including.
Graduating with a degree in culinary arts from the Instituto Culinario de México in Puebla, he chose to specialize in the discipline of pastry making and bakery as he believes this allows him to best express his creativity. Having spun sugar, tempered chocolate and raised delicate mueille-fueille layers in the award-winning kitchens of hotels and catering establishments in Mexico, Chef Rodrigo, as he prefers to be called, left in 2007 for the Middle East.
Pioneering the hotel’s pre-opening culinary team, the talented chef was assistant pastry chef of the pastry kitchen at the Hotel JAL Fujairah Resort and Spa, which serviced seven dining outlets.
Now guests at Sharq Village and Spa can look forward to tasting his exquisite creations which promise not only to tempt the taste buds but to be a visual feast as well. His pastries and breads will be available on the buffet at Al Liwan the all day dining restaurant, Al Jalsa the Arabian themed café, and on the menus of beachfront restaurant Al Dana, the In-room selection and at banquet events.
